    Spanning many fields, Marc Boehm’s accomplishments exemplify a teaching artist at the nexus of performance and teaching. He graduated with his Master of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music and received special distinction as an Outreach Graduation Award recipient for his work teaching in New York City’s public school system. Prior to his Graduate work, Marc obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Trombone Performance from The Juilliard School. His teachers include Joseph Alessi, Principal Trombone of the New York Philharmonic, Dr. Per Brevig, former Principal Trombone of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra of New York, and chamber music coaches from the American Brass Quintet. Before his conservatory training, Marc studied with Dr. Tom Gibson of Kennesaw State University, Dr. Philip Jameson of the University of Georgia, and Tom Riccobono at Interlochen Arts Academy.

    Marc has had an extensive performance career throughout the United States and toured in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and China. During his time living in the North East, Marc was a member of the orchestra Symphony in C, under the direction of Maestro Rossen Milanov of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Additionally, he was a member of The Juilliard School’s Gluck Community Service Fellowship and performed in hospitals, nursing homes, and youth crisis centers providing interactive, engaging performances to those in need. Marc was also a member of the Instrumental Music Program, a Juilliard Teaching Fellowship that provided instrumental instruction in Harlem, free of charge. He also taught with the Lucy Moses School at the Kaufman Center, and recently served as faculty of trombone, euphonium, and chamber music at Manhattan School of Music’s Summer Music Camp. During a brief time living in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Marc taught with the Performing Arts Center of Metro West.

    Since moving back to GA, Marc has begun working with Music Matters After School as a Brass Specialist and Assistant Teacher, as well as with the Atlanta Music Project as the Trombone Teaching Artist. Marc also enjoys teaching a private studio of students around north Georgia and is a member of the International Trombone Association and the National Association for Music Education. He can be heard on the From The Top radio show, Live from Lincoln Center Broadcasts with The Juilliard Orchestra, as well as on Joesph Alessi’s CD, Return to Sorrento, which featured the Juilliard Trombone Choir on the Naxos label.
