Lydia Falcon
After-School Programs Associate
A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Lydia has a passion for music, music education and instrumental performance. From a very young age, Lydia has been involved in music through choir, where she participated in the OAKE National Children’s Choir, but then found a love of instrumental music through watching marching bands at Mardi Gras and football games.
In middle school she selected the trombone and has continued loving the instrument to this day. Lydia attended LSU and received a Bachelor of Arts in Music (Trombone) with a minor in Psychology. During her duration at LSU, she was a member and President of the Beta Gamma Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, a sister of Sigma Alpha Iota, a member of The Golden Band from Tiger Land, LSU Orchestra, LSU Wind Ensemble, LSU Symphonic Winds, as well as the trombone studio and multiple chamber ensembles through the years.
Following graduation, Lydia was accepted into the Kennedy Center Internship program where she worked in the VSA/Access Office, learning about accessibility in culture sectors/performance spaces for those with disabilities.
Currently, Lydia enjoys playing with Atlanta Trombone Ensemble, Atlanta Swing Orchestra and playing with friend’s bands around town. When not playing music, you can find her crafting, playing video games or cuddling with her cat, Toothless.
