VIDEO: AMP Teaching Artists Do TEDxPeachtree 2011

TEDxPeachtree has been a strong supporter of the Atlanta Music Project since before we even existed. At TEDxPeachtree 2009, Stanford Thompson was able to excite the audience about the possibility of El Sistema coming to Atlanta. At TEDxPeachtree 2010 I spoke about “Music As A Vehicle For Social Change“. This year, for TEDxPeachtree 2011, the Atlanta Music Project Teaching Artists were invited to perform for the audience. I’m proud to say that our performance received a standing ovation! This is a testament to the talent and quality of our Teaching Artists, who spend their afternoons in our communities, teaching and coaching our students. I’m constantly in awe of my fellow colleagues because they’re good enough that they don’t really need to be doing this work with the Atlanta Music Project, but they choose to because they believe it’s crucial and they believe that they are changing lives. The Atlanta Music Project is very fortunate to have such amazing people on the front lines of its social change mission. Special thanks to Nwandi Lawson for the brilliant introduction!
