AMP Youth Orchestras

About AMP Youth Orchestras:

The AMP Youth Orchestras are the most advanced instrumental ensembles at AMP and are designed for young musicians in middle and high school who are already experienced performers.

Performing both standard symphonic music and musical genres representing the culture of the communities we serve, it is our goal for the AMP Youth Orchestras to become one of the top youth training orchestra programs in the country.

The AMP Youth Orchestras consist of three ensembles: Junior Youth Orchestra Level I, Junior Youth Orchestra Level II, and Senior Youth Orchestra. The Senior Youth Orchestra performs national and international concert tours or competitions on an annual basis. The latest concert tour was to Ottawa, Canada.

All ensembles include: violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, french horn, tuba, orchestral percussion.

Junior Youth Orchestras Level I and II are beginner and intermediate ensembles, respectively, performing music from Level 2 – Level 4.

6th – 8th graders should apply to audition for Junior Youth Orchestra Level I or Junior Youth Orchestra Level II. Beginner to intermediate players should audition for Junior Youth Orchestra Level I.  Those comfortable playing late intermediate music may audition for Junior Youth Orchestra Level II.  Should a student be in between levels, they may be offered the opportunity to perform limited pieces with a more advanced ensemble.

Senior Youth Orchestra level is advanced, performing full symphonic works and music from Level 4 – Level 6.

AMP Youth Orchestras: Registration Fee: $25/child ($10 for siblings)
