Last Tuesday September 24 we had a fantastic morning at Chick-Fil-A headquarters. The Chick-Fil-A Foundation held the first meeting of its Advisory Board and they graciously invited the AMP String Teaching Artists to provide background music and invited our budding young artists to do a short performance.
It was quite the field trip for our young musicians who took a chartered bus to Chick-Fil-A headquarters in South Atlanta. They were treated to their own green room and breakfast, courtesy, of course, of Chick-Fil-A.
The Advisory Board included several prominent movers and shakers including Ambassador Andrew Young and Spelman College President Beverly Tatum.
Here is a video of the part of the performance. The piece is Georgia On My Mind. A great opportunity for our young artists on this occasion was that their own AMP Teaching Artists joined them for their performance.
A special thank you to Chick-Fil-A CEO Dan Cathy for inviting us, to Chick-Fil-A Foundation Executive Director Rodney Bullard for his support and finally to Sarah Mount of Brand Apart firm for helping to organize logistics. Finally, thank you to the AMP parents who joined us on this exciting performance as chaperones. We appreciate everyone’s support!
