This fall, AMP will expand to launch AMPlify, the all-choral program of the Atlanta Music Project!
AMPlify will give 50 elementary school students in Atlanta’s Mechanicsville neighborhood the opportunity to:
- Be a part of an intense after-school choral program
- Learn to read and write music, develop vocal skills
- Perform choral concerts all over Metro Atlanta
- Become role models for their peers, families and communities
The Leader
AMPlify will be led by Aisha Bowden. Aisha is an award-winning choir director and music educator who spent over ten years teaching in inner-city D.C. and Atlanta. A 2012 graduate of the Sistema Fellows Program, which included a 5-week residency in Venezuela to study El Sistema, Aisha also spent two years as the Atlanta Music Project’s Choral Teaching Artist. Aisha holds a Bachelor of Music Education, with a minor in Piano Performance, from Howard University (HU!).
