Cooking Notes II: A Virtual Cooking Class

The Atlanta Music Project is back with another virtual cooking class! Gather your friends, family, and co-workers for “Cooking Notes II,” a scrumptious virtual cooking class led by Chef JJ Johnson. 

Join us for this fun and interactive virtual cooking class combining fresh ingredients and expert techniques to complete the dish right in your own home.

Tune-in live to cook side-by-side with Chef Johnson! Ask questions of the chef and enjoy brief musical interludes from AMP young musicians.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 to support the music education programs of the Atlanta Music Project during the 2020-2021 school year. With your support, we will serve 300 K-12 students through creative musical pursuits, including musical ensembles, private lessons, production, and entrepreneurship. 

THE DETAILS

When: Thursday, March 18, 2021, 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm EST.

Ticket Price: $40. You will receive Zoom information and class details via email upon registration.

Featured Dish: Baja Chicken Curry with a twist featuring the unique blend of flavors from Afro-Asian cuisine.

Class structure: Chef Johnson will show you on screen the technique for making a favorite chicken dish.

Ingredients: The ingredients list will be shared after registering. We encourage you to purchase your own ingredients before the event.

This class is intended to gather people together to raise funds for the Atlanta Music Project — while having some fun and sharing a delicious meal! Join us to build a community and support the young people who need us most!

About the Chef:
JJ Johnson is a James Beard Award-winning chef best known for his barrier-breaking cuisine connecting the foodways of West Africa and Asia to the Americas. Chef JJ’s signature style of combining culturally relevant ingredients with his classically trained cooking and global point of view was inspired by the Caribbean tastes he grew up with, combined with inspiration from his travels.
